Warranty Policy

This warranty only applies to electric bikes purchased through our official EU website at koolux.de. If you purchased your bike from a third-party seller or retailer, please contact them directly for after-sales service. All KOOLUX bike owners are entitled to contact the KOOLUX team for troubleshooting assistance throughout the lifetime of their bike, but after-sales service must be handled by the original retailer.
For clarification, we do not ship to island regions such as Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man.
Warranty replacement parts will only be shipped within the continental EU and mainland UK.
Please note: Electric bikes are not intended for sale to persons under 16 years of age. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or adult when riding and should wear appropriate protective equipment.

Warranty period

For the original buyer
We offer a 1-year warranty on every KOOLUX electric bike, excluding any wear and tear parts. The warranty period begins on the date the original purchaser receives the bike.

For subsequent owners
We also offer a 1-year warranty for subsequent owners, excluding all wear and tear items. Subsequent owners must provide proof of the original purchase, including the original owner's name and order number. The warranty period will still begin on the date the original owner received the bike.

Wear parts (non-warranty parts)
"Wear and tear" refers to damage that occurs naturally and inevitably through normal use of the bicycle. These parts are not covered by this warranty. Below is a non-exhaustive list of typical wear and tear parts that are excluded from the warranty:
• Tires
• brake pads
• Brake elements
• Hoses
• Handles
• Chains
• pinion
• Lights and bulbs
• Seat covers
• spokes
• Pedals
• Fuses

Incorrect installation, operation and maintenance
• Incorrect assembly or installation: Any problems caused by incorrect assembly or installation of the bicycle.
• Accidents and Negligence: Damage caused by collisions, negligence, improper repairs, inadequate maintenance or abnormal, excessive or improper use.
• Unauthorized modifications or installations: Modifications or installations of components, parts or accessories not originally designed or compatible with the Product.
• Corrosion: Damage caused by corrosion is not covered.
• Battery Damage: The battery is not covered for damage caused by power surges, use of inappropriate chargers, improper maintenance, normal wear and tear, or water damage.
For the avoidance of doubt, KOOLUX is not responsible for any damage, malfunction or loss resulting from unauthorized service or use of unauthorized parts.

Transport damage
This warranty does not cover any damage to the product that occurs during shipping. However, KOOLUX agrees to replace such damaged products if the following conditions are met:
• You notify KOOLUX within seven (7) days of receipt of the original purchase that the product was damaged during shipping.
• You provide KOOLUX with photos and/or videos showing the date and details of the damage in a timely manner.
If you arrange shipping yourself, e.g. through a freight forwarder or similar service, KOOLUX is not responsible for replacing any products damaged during this shipping process.

Warranty process
KOOLUX will not replace any warranty replacement parts covered by this Limited Warranty without first reviewing photos or videos of the damaged parts.
To exercise your right to replacement parts under this Limited Warranty, you must:

  1. Contact KOOLUX Customer Service: Contact the KOOLUX customer service team at [email protected]. The team will first work with you to diagnose the problem with your electric bike and find possible simple solutions.
  2. Determine the need for replacement: If the customer service team determines that a warranty part needs to be replaced, they will provide you with the necessary replacement parts and instructions on how to install them.
  3. Installation Assistance: Once you receive the warranty replacement parts, the customer service team will assist you how to install the new parts on your electric bike.
  4. Local Repair Option: KOOLUX customer service team may agree to have your bike repaired at a local repair shop and they may offer to reimburse a portion of the repair costs.

Bicycle theft
Unfortunately, theft of the product is not covered by the warranty. We recommend making a note of the frame number and serial number of your bike upon receipt. Consider taking out insurance to protect your bike if necessary.

DISCLAIMER OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES
THIS WARRANTY CONSTITUTES A COMPLETE AND ABSOLUTE STATEMENT OF KOOLUX'S WARRANTY FOR THE PRODUCT. NO OTHER REPRESENTATION OF ANY KIND BY ANYONE SHALL CREATE A WARRANTY FOR THE PRODUCT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KOOLUX'S LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE, AND IN NO EVENT SHALL KOOLUX BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES. THIS LIMITATION DOES NOT EXCLUDE LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY KOOLUX'S NEGLIGENCE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, KOOLUX HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE FOR THE DURATION OF THIS EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY.
Some states, provinces or countries do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or warranties, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply. If a court of competent jurisdiction determines that any particular provision of this warranty does not apply, all other provisions will remain in full force and effect.
